“510 Hikers mission is to invite, educate and empower black people through outdoor adventures in nature”
Spending time in nature has been associated with lower stress levels, reduction in depression and decrease in high blood pressure. It’s been known as being essential to ones health for ages. The problem is, too many underrepresented groups have been made to feel unwelcomed and uncomfortable in these spaces. 510 Hikers works to reverse the feeling many have through weekly group hikes in the Bay Area, educating new hikers on hike etiquettes and safety practices, helping getting the right gear in people’s hands with help from our partners that include both REI and Patagonia while offering a since of confidence knowing “we out here.” Our aim is to build educated and confident hikers.
